I can hear specific phrases in my mind - "NEVER leave the first location", "Always treat it as though it's loaded", "Listen to that little voice inside your head", "Don't compare yourself to others, only to yourself." I am so lucky to have had a Dad like him. <3Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9111837823188464639.post-89486778675284674952009-11-04T20:33:28.376-08:002009-11-04T20:33:28.376-08:00Well done. Wow, what a story, and to have gratitude at that. So many things could have gone wrong, and it seems it was all just enough to have gratitude eh?

We just got back from camping in the mountains and everything went wrong there, from a blown out tire that of course no one on the planet had in stock, to the temperatures dropping down to the 20's so that even Casey the dog was shivering. It's like someone who comes into your bedroom when you're sleeping and lifts the shades saying "wake up, and get outside! It's a beautiful day!"

When it comes to light, most people prefer a candle at first than a 10,000 candlepower floodlight in their eyes.

Good point, too, about not being able to lead ourselves out of the woods. My buddy Hal and I have a contract we developed after many years of hearing about each other's problems ("rocks"). we noticed we often had the perfect advice for each other so I said one day, "why don't I just solve your problems and you solve mine?" I know I can solve his problems 100% to MY satisfaction, but whether it's to HIS is another thing... :)

Also, I was curious who else you may have inspired to start a blog, and was wondering if you would link to them on your page (called a "blogroll").Jon Bachhttp://jonbox.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9111837823188464639.post-3591497580913141942009-08-19T09:25:15.738-07:002009-08-19T09:25:15.738-07:00I know someone else might think...."oh good g...I know someone else might think...."oh good grief, it's just a blog for goodness sake".
